The song “I’ll Be Your Lover Too"
by Van Morrison came on while we were doing
playtime and I was so into the music, it was
like no one else was there! It was awesome to
let everything go and just dance! I will never
forget that song.

When did you begin studying sensual dance and
pole movement?
About 4 years ago when I was 5 months pregnant
with my son. It allowed me to discover an
amazing, powerful,
nurturing woman inside. I will forever be drawn
to this movement not only for who it has made
me, but also the amazing transformations I see
in all the incredible ladies that come to dance
at The Goddess Movement.
What have you learned the most from teaching
clients at The Goddess Movement?That
there is a primal power and beauty in EVERY
woman. It is the simple things- the way her
hair falls across her face, the round curve of
her hip as she stands leaning against the wall,
the coy smile that comes when her body is fully
at play with a movement, the way she gives words
of encouragement and faith to a fellow student
whom she didn’t know before, the gentle buzz of
sisterhood and friendship coming from the lounge
as a class waits for their playground to be
prepared!
What do you wish to pass on to current and
future Goddesses?
That life is short and we as a collective group
of women need to bond together and create a
powerful, accepting group of ladies who are
willing to cheer on each other’s beauty. That
there is so much joy to be found in movement if
we can let our brains go and allow our bodies to
be free of judgement. That every woman needs to
believe in herself- there is a power within to
not only survive, but flourish and make a
difference, she just needs to decide to
participate!
What training or experiences have you had that
you bring to the studio to accent your teaching?

degree in The Human Physiology of Exercise

Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Stott

"Nothing has changed my body and
how I view it as much as this movement. When I
began
studying this beautiful movement of sensual
dance and pole work, I was five months pregnant
with my amazing son, Aiden. I continued on after
he was born and watched my body change.
I felt stronger, leaner, more powerful, more
beautiful and more at peace with my body than
ever before. I continue to watch this “butterfly
effect” with all the amazing women who
journey
through our program – it’s awe-inspiring."

How long have
you been dancing at The Goddess Movement?
Since September 2007
What have you
learned the most from being at The Goddess
Movement? I have learned that I do
have a feminine side and that my body is capable
of moving in ways I never would have thought
possible... and I look GOOD doing it!!
What do you wish
to pass on to current and future Goddesses?
That
no matter what their experience is with dance
and movement, that they will feel successful
and sexy at the end of each class. Even when I
am having a bad day, I leave Goddess feeling
energized, strong and ON FIRE!!
What is your
favorite song to “Goddess” to? Tough
question....
For hip circles: Fuego (Pitbull)
For couch: My Pony (by Daniel Wesley)
For chair: Fever
For pole: Pour Some Sugar On Me!!
What training
or experiences have you had that you bring to
the studio to accent your teaching? I
have experience teaching aerobics, step and
pilates and I also have a kinesiology
background. I have a teaching degree with a PE
major. I was in ballet when I was younger, (from
the age of 6 to 14), but I was always the girl
who’s knees were bleeding through her tights
from playing too hard outside before class!... I
was often described (affectionately) as being
as
graceful as a herd of elephants!!
What is your
other job or business outside the studio? I
am a high school PE and French teacher.
Hobbies?
Mountaineering, mountain biking, skiing, water
skiing, hiking, and I occasionally force myself
to run!! I am also a “pole junkie” and spend
any spare minute I can on my pole!
Favorite color? It
depends on the day, but right now I am loving
greens and blues.
Vanilla or Chocolate?
CHOCOLATE!!!
(especially chocolate mousse...MMmmmmm..)
Sweet or Salty? SWEET!!
Best memory
attached to a song?
Anyone
who knows me well knows that my favourite dance
move is “the lunge”. I love to lunge it out to
“Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey, usually
onstage if they’ll let me!! Even when I’m 80
yrs old, I’ll bust out an “air guitar-kick
lunge” or two when I hear that song!!

Birthday: December 24, 1960 YIKES!
Nickname: People have different nicknames
for me. All have Angel or Sister…
How long have you been dancing at The Goddess
Movement? I started with this movement 4
years ago! I am continually reminded of the
benefits for me…the changes in my body, the
changes in the way I viewed my body, the freedom
of loving every curve and knowing it has a
unique way of moving. Do you think I’m
addicted?
What have you learned the most from being at
The Goddess Movement? That feeling good
about my body means I feel good about me, and
that usually means life is more fun and easier!
That women’s bodies are created for circular
movements and my body craves these workouts…not
to mention a few spins around a pole! That there
is a big difference between sensuality and
sexuality and I love adding sensuality to my
life! And last but most important for me as an
instructor, my heart is full when I get to share
sensual movement with other women. I want all
women to experience this movement!
What do you wish to pass on to current and
future Goddesses? As a person who has been
engaged in a variety of fitness activities over
the years, nothing has done more for my body
than the Goddess Movement – the workout is
fantastic and my results have been amazing!
What is your favorite song to “Goddess” to?
Only one? But I have so many…Leave your hat
on by Etta James and Lick by Joi
What training or experiences have you had
that you bring to the studio to accent your
teaching? I have a degree in Adult Education
and do a lot of personal and professional
development for groups of people + I believe
learning should be fun and integrate that into
the Goddess Movement. I am also a personal life
coach and this helps to ensure I create a safe
and encouraging environment for all women to
play and learn!
What is your other job or business outside
the studio? I am a consultant in community
and professional development specializing in
facilitation and publishing.
Hobbies? I love the great outdoors and
enjoy our BC playground in many ways – I hike,
kayak, ski, camp. I also love a great book on a
lazy weekend!

maple syrup? Those are definitely my two evils.
